because theyre better quality than other wheels, and theyre lighter, but you do have a decent point

Love the SOM T/A as I have one sitting in my garage. But Black rims with that color looks like ***.

I was gonna buy Fikse rims and then thought about the curbing situation. I've already curbed two of my stock rims and I only drive it on nice days during the summer. So I decided to go with something cheaper. Ironically both happened going through the drive-up at two different banks. The first time I was pissed, the second time I blew a gasket. I can't imagine what I'd do if it happened to a set of $3500 rims.

i dont mean to sound like an ***, but why are they so expensive? they look like a nice machine finished wheel, but nothing too special. i think wheels like ccw's or iforged are more worth the $$.

Furthermore, what happens if you let your 'friend' drive, or your wife, or girlfriend? I suppose you would say you don't ever let them, but w/e, I like the rims but for the cost and the fact that 'accidents' do happen from time to time, I'd rather have rims that are a dime a dozen or not super expensive. kthxbye
I had the z06 wheels on my camaro for 3 years and I drove it all the time and let my GF drive ti all the time and never once curbed a wheel...gotta be ******* retarded to hit a curb...its not being a perfect driver, its being a careful driver. However I do agree on the wheels and their price. I got mine for $1K new with tires on 18x9.5 chrome z06 replicas and couldnt imagine paying triple or quadruple that for wheels, but if you have the money they look amazing!

i hope you know your insulting about 90% of all the people on this board. curbing a rim is very common. Maybe not to the point where the whole rim is trashed, but even a little curb rash on a rim happens to almost everyone. I drive my car very carefully, i watch everything as much as possible, more so than id say the average driver, which is something i think we all do with our cars. However, you are saying that since you drive SOOO carefully, curbing your rim is impossible. What happens if a car is cutting to close to you on a tight turn and you have no where to go? its either you get the front of you car taken out, or you go up the curb, what do you do? Id rather curb my **** than have my car get hit. Which is what happened to me earlier in the year. Replace a Zr1 for 200.00, badabing, all good.

im not going to argue about this anymore

I doubt its 90% of the people on this board, but Im talking about curbing your wheel while trying to parallel park, or taking a corner too sharp, as thats just being careless. Your example is very valid but lets be serious your going to bring up the most dramatic example and try to claim that i was talking about how you should not curb your wheel even if it means trashing your car...lets be serious there are circumstances where it could happen to anyone, and maybe im just super careful, but ive yet to encounter a situation where ive had no choice but to smash my wheel into a curb. Accident and evasive manuevers to prevent a crash are totally different, but if you are parallel parking, taking a corner too sharp, etc and curb your wheels then your retarded. Im done arguing too.
