Love the SOM T/A as I have one sitting in my garage. But Black rims with that color looks like ***.
I was gonna buy Fikse rims and then thought about the curbing situation. I've already curbed two of my stock rims and I only drive it on nice days during the summer. So I decided to go with something cheaper. Ironically both happened going through the drive-up at two different banks. The first time I was pissed, the second time I blew a gasket. I can't imagine what I'd do if it happened to a set of $3500 rims.

i dont mean to sound like an ***, but why are they so expensive? they look like a nice machine finished wheel, but nothing too special. i think wheels like ccw's or iforged are more worth the $$.

Not everyone is a 'perfect driver' like you apparently are, and that's a 'large risk', and a 'large amount of money' I personally don't think I'd ever want to put myself into.
Furthermore, what happens if you let your 'friend' drive, or your wife, or girlfriend? I suppose you would say you don't ever let them, but w/e, I like the rims but for the cost and the fact that 'accidents' do happen from time to time, I'd rather have rims that are a dime a dozen or not super expensive. kthxbye

However I do agree on the wheels and their price. I got mine for $1K new with tires on 18x9.5 chrome z06 replicas and couldnt imagine paying triple or quadruple that for wheels, but if you have the money they look amazing!

I drive my car very carefully, i watch everything as much as possible, more so than id say the average driver, which is something i think we all do with our cars. However, you are saying that since you drive SOOO carefully, curbing your rim is impossible. What happens if a car is cutting to close to you on a tight turn and you have no where to go? its either you get the front of you car taken out, or you go up the curb, what do you do? Id rather curb my **** than have my car get hit. Which is what happened to me earlier in the year. Replace a Zr1 for 200.00, badabing, all good.
