looks like a 4x4!! Help!
looks like a 4x4!! Help! I recently got some new Z06 17/18 combo for my car and it rides high like a 4x4. I know lowering springs will drop it, but do i need to change anything else in the suspension if i lower it like 1.5"? or can i run springs by themselves? thanks!

i have had a prokit and sportlines and all that i've changed was the springs. nothing else. and the ride is still good etc imo. but if you have the money i guess you can get diff shocks etc.

This is exactly why I am worried about getting a set of 17" with 275-40-17 tires. I presently have a 4th gen bird with 16" stock aluminum wheels. If I get a set of Z06 does that mean my car is going to be higher off the ground? Will the appearance look peculiar in that I will need to get it lowered? I don't want to mess with lowering and spending more money.
You should be ok with 17's with the stock ride height. Remember all WS6' and SS's come with 270/40-17's. But if you decide to lower, make sure you get a shock that compliments the spring. Lowering springs on stock shocks will ride horrible. I recommend you reasearch to see what exactly you are looking for.

Hell, do like I did and cut a coil out of the front springs, and do the hose mod out back. My car rides just as good as it did stock...
But then again it's about 280 lbs lighter than stock. Might have something to do with the fact that even with the lowering, it's still just a fuzz below stock height.
