They look great. I want to get a pair of 17 X11's too, but don't want to do the BFH mod.

I'm afraid the paint will start to peel at the wheel well lip. You do have to roll the fenders with these right? or just band out the inside of the fender well?

Wouldn't the 50 mm offest stick out more than the 56 offset?

The 17x11 zr1's only come in 50mm and 36mm offsets. The 17x9.5's are 56mm.

I'm gonna beat Mikes ***..lol. Didn't have to roll the fenders. Just beat the **** out of the inner part of the fender, no where near any paint. You beat the part that is around the front inside part of the tire.

Yeah...this is where I had to beat mine....

You really don't need to roll the fender lip in most instances, it depends on two things:

1. What brand tire you get
2. If you have an adjustable panhard bar or not

Nittos are the skinniest tires for their size. The GS-D3 Goodyears and the Yokohama AVS Sport, along with the BFG KD are probably the widest tires. I have the Yokohama AVS Sport, and my fender lip did some slicing to the passenger side rear tire. Nothing that was detrimental to the tire though. I finally got a double adjustable rod ended panhard bar from UMI Performance, I my buddy centered my rear end properly, and so far I haven't had any more additional slicing.

So...if you get nittos, you'll be fine no matter what, at least from what I read. If you get any of the big boy tires...then you really should have a panhard bar to adjust the rear end.

I'm running 315 BFG's on a non lowered Z-28 and have not encountered any rubbing at all. I had three guys about 200 lbs a piece in my car this weekend and had no rubbing at all. I did massage the inner fender a little as shown above but it didn't take five minutes, was easy and I used some undercoating paint and you can't tell it was ever touched. This is for a stock height camaro BTW, if your car is lowered then I could see some problems.

You are right about the tire width.

I had 315 Nitto drags on my SS and I never had any issues of rubbing. When it came time to replace the tires (I bought the FM5's with Nittos on them already) I always always use KD's. IMHO, best damn tire out there. Not for drag racing, just all around.
Anyways, when I bought 315 KD's for my SS they rubbed everywhere. I had to roll the fenders and beat in the wheel well. Not hard to do at all, and once I did that I've never had a problem since.

Only problem I have about my wheels/tires is they catch the axle bumper if I jack up the rear one side at a time. So I just jack it up by the axle and no problems.

Peace,
Craig.

For the fellow that asked, you can buy a pair of the 17x11 wheels from Tomz if you call them because they are not listed that way on the site.

See Z28Manny's pic, I had to remove the whole bumpstop of both sides and beat in the same places. I have a double rod adj phb too and they still rubbed. Same rims with Sumitono HTR 315 on rear. These tires are AMAZING. They are $107 each at Tirerack and I don't spin second or spin sideways an slow hard turns anymore. They hook up on the street like nobodys business. Did I mention $107 a piece?
