Will a 10" wide slick be enough for my car?

Will a 10" wide slick be enough for my car?
The car is a '98 Z28 with lid and full exhaust, Spec Stage 3 clutch, built up T-56 that's supposed to handle around 800 lb-ft, steel driveshaft, full adjustable torque arm, tubular control arms and panhard bar, stock springs, KYB Shocks, Moser 12-Bolt with 33 spline axles, Detroit TrueTrac and 3.90's. (In case you can't tell, I'm building it from the rear forwards )
Right now I'm running Nitto NT555R's in a 245/50R16 on some salad shooters, and I blow them up in smoke any time I launch hard at the track.
I noticed Hoosier (and possibly other companies) make a 28"x10.0"x16" slick, and I was wondering if that would be enough tire to handle the car once I get heads, cam, intake, and injectors (~430ish hp ~415ish tq)? I know they should be enough to handle it as the car sits.
And when I say handle it, I mean can I be holding 5,000+ and dump the clutch and get a little slip and go? Also, would it yank the tires at all with current power (332 hp 341 tq SAE) and those 10" wide slicks?
Sorry for the long post, and any help is appreciated. I read a lot of the threads, and couldn't really find an answer to my specific question. Learned a lot about slicks though.
Thanks,
Jim

make sure you go with a stiff sidewall in a stick car.
it will say S next to the dimensions of the tire
You should be able to hook on a 10 but it never hurts to step up to an 11.5ish
