Default 69 camaro torq thrust II's Help

I need some help with the maximum size tire i can fit on my stock 69 camaro rs/ss conv. w/ 12 bolt Rear. I have been told that TT 2's 17X8 are the way to go with 4.75 backspacing with P275-40-17 in the rear and P245-45-17 in the front. My question is can i fit a wider rim/tire on the back without rubbing and is this combination in the front the beast setup? Does anyone have a better setup??

This is what I had on my red '69:

Front Wheels - 17x8 (4.75" backspace)
Rear Wheels - 17x10 (5.50" backspace)

Front Tires - 245/45-ZR17 Nitto NT555
Rear Tires - 275/40-ZR17 Nitto NT555

That combo fit without any modification. I went with 17x8 4.50" backspace on the fronts for my orange '69, they fit better when the car is lowered (no rubbing).

275 wide rears max for lowered cars. You can go 285s if the car isn't lowered any.
