The wheels looks perfect, I do find it strange that you have two stripes of concrete to park on with dirt in the middle...I've never seen that before...that's wierd.
They didn't come with center caps for the rear...or they wouldn't fit...or you just wanted the strange axles to show through?

I wanted them to show thru like u said..... I HATE the center caps on the rears.... and when ya go to the track and run in the 9's the tech has to see the axles to check that there aftermarket....

With the rear shortened 3", and the better backspacing on the wheels, do you still have to do any caliper grinding?
Since my car has been relegated to drag-duty, and I need an axle and drag wheels, I'd really like to know. Less grinding I have to do, the better.
Really bad-*** looking setup, BTW. I like it a lot.

With Weld wheels not matter what ya do to the rear and no matter what backspacing your going to have to grind the calipers unless ya run aftermarket brakes....
The grinding is so easy and took about 2 hrs per wheel..... no hard at all...
BTW Ill have some new pics up of the inner fender soo for those of you who wanted pics and ill have new pics with my new wheels with 5" BS vice the 5.5" Welds that are on there now.

1) Being able to tuck bigger tires
2) Weight Reduction
Would I be correct in that assumption?
Also, if you had a way to compare, does shortening the axle result in less or more grinding?

Looks great! I have had the same plans for a while, I am mini tubbing my 98z28 and was also going with a S60 with a 325 50 15 on a 15x10.
Was thinking of also going with a 315 60 15, but kind of shy away from having to trim the outer fender wells.
Can I ask you a huge favor?? I know the body widths and dimensions must be different on our cars, but could you tell me exactly the "real" measured hight and section width of that tire?
I am working on my mini tub, so I can tuck that tire in and have about 1" of clearance from the section wall to the fender well lip.
I planned on narrowing mine 3" per side and running whatever backspace will tuck the tire in an inch, but still have to measure after I mini tub it, has to be done right.
Is 3" per side the most you can narrow that rear end?
Also if you plan to mini tub yours I found a lot of great info and have some cool plans for making customs fabbed parts. I have about 100 hours of research into this 1 day project =P
Plan to relocate my rear lower control arms too, looks like I will have about 15.5 - 16" from the outer fender well to the tub with no other obstructions.
Also yes, please post some photos soon.

Narrowing the rear does reduce weight, you're chopping 3" of housing tubing and axle off.
Yes you can fit bigger tires, but the main reason is to be able to run a rim with less back space which more companies offer drag style rims in, good luck finding a 15x12 with 9" back space =P
And having a rear end wider or narrower has nothing to do with grinding the calipers, the dimensions where the brakes mount to the rim do not change if you narrow the rear end.

Kyle. what size wheel studs are you running? i have 5/8 stud with an 11/16th shoulder. just wondering if prostars will fit on the back without having to be drilled out.
