Default Tired of no traction!!

Hey guys, I plan on getting a 9" rear here soon for my DD T/A. I have major traction issues through 1st and 2nd gear, SOMETIMES even third! it's getting very annoying, especially since a good friend of mine bought an STI and I can't even pass his *** until around 75mph. What tires would you guys recommend?

Since it's a daily driver, I suppose BFG DR's are out of the question? I have Yokohama AVS Sports now, and besides being horrendously expensive, I have no traction either (as the plate indicates). For an all around tire, the Good Year GS-D3 is very popular. For more of a dry weather application, the BFG KD seems to be the ticket. I have 2 of those on the front right now and will be getting them for the rears as soon as the Yokos bite the dust.

Besides, that Nittos I guess? You don't even have much in the way of mods, hm... I suppose the KD ought to hold you pretty good.

As for me, my last dyno numbers are in the sig. I also have a Spohn Adjustable Torque arm that's body mounted, SFC's and LCA's, and with all that and 315's on 11" wide wheels, I still have no traction...so I totally feel your pain!

IT SUCKS! the tires on the car now are what came with it when I bought it(kelly's). My friend with the STI gets like a 7 car head start while i'm practically sideways all the way to 20 mph, then i'm sideways again going into 2nd gear. I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's only putting down 333hp to the wheels too.

Try doing some suspension mods first, it should help, not solve, your problems... after that, I used to run a Nitto DR daily on my supra, worked good for 430rw, but then again that power didn't come on nearly as fast (sometimes not at all ) Good luck.

Are you gonna stick with stock sized tires?

If you want to run securely in the rain get the Good Year GS-D3
For best dry weather performance without going crazy get the BFG KD
Or, if you don't mind mixing and matching and aren't scared of the rain, GS-D3 in the front, Nittos or BFG DR's in the back

Do your suspension mods, Torque Arm and Lower Control Arms

What other mods have you planned?

im running 315 bfg drag radials and i get good traction all the time except for the rain. the nitto 315s are a bit smaller in overall size but are alot better in the rain than the BFG's.
