Those with 18's on their F-body, what sized rear tires do you have?

dry hot road you're going to do pretty well with the GS-D3s, but not as good as Nitto DRs and certainily not as good as BFG DRs. But they are very good on dry road.

Now add a little rain or puddles and the GS-D3 will pwn the Nittos and certainly pwn the BFG DRs

Thanks for the info. I am pretty selective about driving my car in certain weather conditions so I don't ever drive in Snow, and the only time I see rain is if it sneeks up on me. Actually I have had the Nittos in the past and they seem to be pretty good in the rain (not even close to as good as your GS-D3's, but still better than probably most other DR's). The BFG's probably hook much better as well, but they also wear out much faster, and because they don't really have much of any tread pattern, they are more likely to pick up nails in the road.

I'll probably end up getting Nitto's again as I beleive they suit me the best for what I am looking for, I just didn't know much about the GS-D3's. Thanks.

Yeah, if you're not going rain on a reagular basis and you're looking to hook that beast of a Z28 I see Nittos in your future....Also might want to look into Mickey Ts new or at least somewhat new DRs but tread wear may be an issue. Or you can do the Micky T ET Streets and never have traction issues again, plus they are fun to drive with the extremely soft sidewall...like driving on jello

I got some ET streets for the track . Other than that all the other better hooking DR's are the same. They all wear a bit faster, and don't have much of a tread pattern leaving them more suseptable to picking up a nail or something to make me have a bad day while driving it on the street.

I have the black AR rebels 18x10 on the back so I went with the 295/35/18 toyo t1r's. They hook really good and have a good treadwear rating. The best tire ever in my opinion(for the street).

Good luck finding the MT DRs in 18"s. They were supposed to be out last spring but never hit the street. I was looking for those but went with the Nittos since I went to the 18" rim. IF they ever make it out on the market, I will be one of the first to get in line to ****** some up.

Any of the sponsers that sell wheels can get you a set of 17x11 ZR1's

Those wheels look sweet! Are those the ones Jason Debler created? BTW, where are you stationed? I'm out here at McGuire (Active Duty, KC-10 Boom Operator)

I got these wheels from a nonsponsor website. I'm at Shaw AFB, SC. I've been to Jersey on TDY for Eagle Flag, 2 years ago. Man it was cold!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the base either, but I can't complain too much as I really do enjoy my job. I've been to Shaw once as well on a TDY, it was nice.

Anyways, great looking wheels. Did you have to pound in any of your rear wheel well?

Nope, it still has the factory shocks and springs! Nothing else in the suspension or chassis would lower the car, all that is done.

Maybe the stroker makes it sit lower

Here is a shot from the side:

Hmm... Im currently running the 315/35/17 in the rear. Looks like most people are going with the 295/35/18 in the rear when they switch up to 18s.

Stupid question but....Is the section width on the 295/35/18 narrower than the 315/35/17?

Yes it is. However keep in mind that not all 275's are the exact same width. A Mickey Thompson DR in the 275 size is a bit wider than say a 275 Nitto DR.

This was told to me by my friend who works at Discount Tire. After comparing them with others of supposed same 275 width, but different brand, it could visibly be seen that they were different in widths, as brand to brand may vary.

I don't have any pics of the Mickey Thompson DR's, but here's a pic of my Nitto DR's I had at the time.
