Nittos are great DD, They last a long time as long as you don't go doing burnouts at every stop light I would run them between 20-24 PSI all the time tho, Otherwise the center wears out fast. Other than that they feel great on the freeway and I drove them like 90% worn out in the rain and everything and never once had a problem

You stated two conditions in your original post: treadlife and ability to handle rain. Together, they spells Nittos - period. There's no question that MT's are far superior at the track. I have both and use MT's exclusively at the track. I run Nittos on the street for your second reason. I love my MT's and wish I could drive them everyday, but they simply are not a DD tire.

Just bought my 2nd pair of Nitto 555R DR's 315/35/17's today. Not a DD for me but they did last for 11K miles. Center wore out as I ran too much air pressure (28psi) in them. They hook a whole lot better than a ANY street tire IMHO.

for Jimmyz, have you ever driven on the MT drag radials? ou say the nittos are better hooking than ANY street tire. thats why i ask, i have driven both, and the MT hook WAY harded, so much that i can't even think to compar the two on the street.

Nope, but I didn't think MT's to be a street tire either. The Nitto DR's hook better than any street tire "I've used". Meaning BFG KD's Goodyear (whatever came on these cars) etc. I just heard that the MT's last about 5K, to me, that's not a street tire...but I've been wrong B4.

they called the same thing and made for the same thing, Drag Radial, just different brads, and yes they do not last as long, but they hook amzingly better. nittos are better if you DD your car though.

When my car was just a heads and cam car, I had 17" wheels with Nitto's. They were fairly decent with traction at my power level at the time. After I went with a stroker and turbo, they were almost useless. It was almost like driving in the rain. I then put MT's on and what a difference! I then went with 15" prostars and MT's and the difference was incredible. It all depends on what kind of power your putting down.
