I have the 315's Nitto Drag Radials out back.. I love them. They are quiet, hook great and look great. I run standard Nitto's up front. Great combination and would gladly use Nitto's again. (I don't drag race my car)

I had a set of 275/40/17 mounted and they lasted for 2 seasons and performed very well with my bolt-on 02 SS. My car average 1.67 60ft's with them . Right now, I'm thinking about buying another set ,since I am fimiliar with them and the price is right too. I don't run my car much so Nitto's really works for me. Check the pic ...on NITTO'S !!

NO! lol because they were worn out and i hydroplaned and hurt my car. But in all honesty when they were good, they were really good, I think they performed great and looked not to shabby either.

Nittos are a true street DR and they last along time

The other DRs have proven not to last as long for daily drivers...

Yeah they're good even in the rain, but driving everyday and going to the track twice a month burned them up in 8,000 miles.

Don't forget to take into consideration the speed rating. Nitto is rated at a constant speed of 149mph. Though not listed on their site I found the BFG was rated at 85mph. Yes you can go faster but only short distances. That's why I run the 315/35/17 nitto's. I've seen BFG's blister from cornering. Look, get the Nitto for the street and pony up for track tires when you race. You'll be glad you did.

I blew my rear with stock tires. Count on replacing it regardless of what tire you pick. Bolt in a Moser 9" and that's when the fun begins!!!!!

I vote no.

They're not for me. I like all around traction like my G-Force KD's, and for some real traction I have Bogarts with E/T streets.
True you don't need to be caught in the rain with E/T streets, but you don't want to be caught in the rain with Nitto drag's either.

So if you want traction then get a set of wheels you can slap E/T streets or drag's or MT drag radial's or whatever, there is alot out there way better then Nitto's IMHO.

Peace,
Craig.

They are definately a compromise. I wanted a street tire that I could drive in the rain and last a while. These work really well for that. Are they a drag slick? Hell no. I run Nittos on my street wheels and Hoosier QTPs for my bogarts. I run the bogarts at the track and when I'm out looking for trouble and the street tires for normal driving duties. They drive like a normal street tire (handling) and grip better than any normal street tire and still offer decent tread life. I have run most of the drag radials (MT, BFG, Nitto and M&H) and I'll continue to use the Nittos for my street tires. Sure, a MT radial will hook better, but they suck *** for daily driving. I got 3k miles out of my first pair of mickeys and 5k from the second. My current Nittos on the Camaro have 8k miles, numerous burn outs and I'd still rather use them in the rain than a new pair of MTs. Just my two cents.

When I had the A4 in the car nittos were great, now that I have an M6 im ridding of these tires and going back to street tires for the rear. I have a set of Welds with MT drags on them if I need to hook somewhere.

I had the Nittos and they were a great DR for the street. I had a stock rear, so I never launched them hard at the track...and now that I have the 12 bolt, I have ET Streets for that. I have BFGs now, but I'm not confident in their street manners for rain and wear. When these wear out, I'll get another set of Nittos.

I too have to pedal first gear, even with just lt's/lid/3.73s. Maybe I dont heat them up enough. I have 275-40-17s in the R-trim. Drag tires, not the regualar streets. They are decent enough that I actually accidentally got caught in the snow one time and I got myself home (very carefully). I thought I was just going to go in circles, but it was good once I got going.

I have the DR's on the rear 315's. Love em, except they pick up a lot of stones and kill the back bumper. I would have put some vinyl back there in advance to help with the chips. But they definitely hook well when you heat them. I plan to purchase another set. They are ok in the rain when new. Mine have maybe 2/32"'s left and left me doing circles on the interstate at 50, my own dumb fault for getting caught in the rain. One last thing they do look skinny compared to other tires in comparable sizes.

I've tried the Nitto and the BFG drag radials. I had to really heat up the Nittos at the track for some decent traction, where the BFG's would hook even if they were cold on the street, but the nitto's had better treadlife. I had the 275 tire with both brands and the nitto is noticably narrower than the bfg's.

I ran 245 nitto 555R's last season and I liked them. They hook better than street tires and do fine in the rain. Mine are 100% bald in the middle and I still drive them in the rain and I have never had a single problem. I wouldn't run them on the freeway in the rain like this but in the city 50mph and below they are just fine. I vote yes
