Default what happens when...

a brake caliper comes off while on a freeway and gets stuck in between the rotor and wheel shredding the inside of the wheel and knocking off the the balance weights???

do i need to have it re-balanced or replace the wheel?

from the sound of it you should probably replace the wheel. yes it could probably be rebalanced and maybe be fine but the wheel could also come apart on you later on and cause you and your car alot more harm.I personally wouldnt trust the wheel right now and would replace it.

I would replace the wheel. What caused your caliper to fall off?

Man that sucks. Well at least it wasn't more serious than just your wheel messing up.

yeah they work fine. I wouldn't worry about the rim. It'll be fine. i had that happen on my '00 V6 camaro. One of the bolt worked it's way loose(don't know how) and came off. I limped it home and found a replacement bolt. just left a scrap like the one you posted in the rim. Ran it for 2 years like that and no problems.~Cole~

Might be able to get away with it, could stick that rim in the rear if its the same size out back, but i would get a new rim if it feels like your getting a vibration from the wheel not balanced properly or if your having to stick too much wheel weight on there.

yeah i think imma just have it re-balanced at a shop to be on the safe side cuz what it did was ripped off all the little weights that balanced the wheel out..

I think if you get it rebalanced, the rim will be OK...now the rotor on the other hand.....
maybe try to get it (actually both sides) turned and they should be OK too.
Good Luck

The rim looks fine IMO.

Just get some new rotors, bolts, and pads if you lost them.

How did that happen, were you breakin real hard. just wodnering if warped rotors could cause that.
