cleaning up the gunk

at first i was thinking ofusing a brillo pad but then i worried about scratching the paint. any ideas for free/cheap cleaning?
its mostly rust and dirt

It looks like your wheels have a disease or something. All joking aside, try using Windex. I swear you can clean anything with that stuff!

when you take a pic like that up close, use the macro function on your camera, its usually the button that has a tiny pic of a flower

I've used simple green and a tooth brush with success. Just make sure the wheels are cool before spraying so they don't get stained.

its snow and dirt. im in the process of restoring the car so its not in the best shape right now. the lugs are all there its just hard to tell.

went back and checked and you are right. two of those lugs are not what is supposed to be on there, and two more are missing on the other wheels.

try using mothers aliminum polish, if it wont get it out then its not comin off without having to sand it

Try using a pressure washer w/ HOT water. After/If you get the gunk off them, try using mother's.

Let us know if you get em cleaned up!
