Default thinking about stripping these wheels. need advice!

hey guys i'm thinking of stripping my girlfriends tiburon wheels. as of right now i believe they are coated and from a couple curb rashes it looks like they're aluminum under neath the coat. i know this can be a pita but as long as i know it can be done i'll do it because i refuse to buy her rims with the way she drives!any advice is helpful, thanks guys

what are going to do with them after you strip them? Polish? Repaint? Aircraft stripper is going to be your best option. You can get it at most auto parts stores. Get the gel kind not the spray and put it on with a brusch and let it sit until you see the paint bubbling off. I use it alot when I powdercoat if sandblasting isn't an option.

you will need to sand to get the curb rash out, after that you should be ready to polish. Polishing can be done but it takes forever and you need the right equipment to do it. Have you looked into getting then chromed?

Polishing is a bitch man.

That burt orange color looks badass.

If I were you, I would strip them and then paint them a nice glossy black.

That would look damn good with the orange.
