Default 315 MT drag radials are in!!

Let me just say these things are freakin WIDE!!! The compound seems just as soft as the older MT's by the ole thumbnail test.

Will have pics of them mounted on wheels tomorrow!!
(No pics on car for a while, I gots no rear-end and no front suspension )

Look good. What are you mounting those on, Keith? I see those American Racing boxes in the background...

Wow, I never noticed they changed the tread pattern on them. This new pattern looks much more street friendly than the ones I have.

I have a picture of my 315 MT drag radials compared to 325/50r15 ET Streets and mine are wider by almost an inch. They fit absolutely perfect on my 17x11 TT2's. If I can I'll snap some mounted pics later today.

Thanks Mike they are TTm's, Anthracite. They look really good on our color

I went to have everything mounted up today, got to Discount Tire and lo and behold. I had 3 17x9 and 1 17x10.5

I can tell you one thing for sure............

A 315 Mt will fit on a 17x9 rim................Looks like **** though!!!

The guy was going to town mounting them and I caught him and said "WHOA!!!!, Something ain't right !!!

NO big deal, I called tomz Wheels and they will get it straight on Tuesday

Of course I got in before the GP

I seriously doubt the 315s are wider than the 325s. Not to mention Mickey Thompson only makes a 325/50/15 in radial as in ET street radial, not bias ply aka ET street.

325/50/15 et street radial. Bare tire, not mounted:

Also straight from the mt website:
P325/50R15 28 X 13.50R15

P315/35R17 26 X 12.50R17

I didn't think they would either. The extra width is nothing that would make a difference to anyone (its not even an 1/8th of an inch). They were compared to a used set of unmounted 325s but I doubt that makes any difference as my tires were not mounted at the time either.

I could put the picture up sometime this week if I could get my cell phone to connect to my computer. If not Ill snap a picture of the two tires mounted.

People that's overall with measured where the tire is the widest not treadwidth. The treadwidth on a 315 mounted on a 11" rim is 11.7" while a 325 mounted on a 10" rim is 11.6"...

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/s...ETStreetRadial

Both tires have a similar contact patch but the 325 is wider overall because it's a 50 series with a wider/thinner sidewall that buldges out a little.

That's a helluva lot of weight reduction you've done there, Keith.

Rims and tires should look really good when you're done. Looks like you've pulled the rearend, too. Story?

they are honestly a little better on the street. i thought they might work a little better on the wet roads than the other tread design, but they really dont help that much more.
