Default Prostar fitment help.

Would someone tell me if this looks right. I bought these wheels on monday. I was test fitting them today with the brake caliper completely of the rotor and my wheel studs don't protrude through to the outer part of the wheel.

2. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...C/HPIM0184.jpg
3. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...C/HPIM0183.jpg

The wheels are 15x8 with 5.5 bs.

Any info would be great.

yup, thats why you buy those shank style lug nuts, they fit in the holes and tighten up.

So other than the shank style lug nuts, that is the way the wheel studs are supposed to look. Where can you buy the shank lug nuts at if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks

you need a min of 3" studs, do not run them that way. Do a search for the part number.

That first pic really is misleading after I looked at it. The car was jacked up and I didn't have the wheel flush with the rotor all the way around. With the wheel flush with the rotor the wheel studs almost come to the edge of the outer part of the wheel.

the stud needs to stick out past the washer for the nut at least 12mm

still too short, this has been discussed many many times. Search will be your best friend.

Hopefully, you did a search as well on wheel sizes. 8" wheels are a bit too narrow for the tires that you can easily run on your car. If your planning to run a 275/50, your wheel is too small. You should be using a mininum 8.5" wide wheel. 10" wheel is better suited. Your wheel's backspace is also too small and makes your wheel stick out ~.75-1" further then a stock 16x8" wheel. It also moves it out of center from your wheel-well and will look odd from the back.

My 3" studs just barely stick out of my Pro-stars. I think you will be fine man and long as you get a shank style lugnut. You can buy them from almost all online perf. stores or even an autopart store.

BS.

15x8 5.5 backspacing, they dont make anything bigger
15x10 is 7.5 backspacing.

both of those fit flush with the fender, just like we like them.

i run 275s on 15x8 run 1.54-1.60 60s with wrong backspacing (since you say 5.5 is wrong) and with the wrong tire (275s)

i must be doing something right
