i have 265s on 16x8s. but theyre slicks, kuhmo 710s, for autoxing. its not the best size, and doesnt make a perfect contact patch, but there are alot less slicks available in 16s then there are even street tires. if you can find a 16x9 rim, then the 265s would fit perfectly.

I don't think the limitation is the wheel so much as it is the tire sizes available. 16 inch rims don't bother me at all, but I went with 17 inch rims just for the better tire selection. 255's are the largest I found as well, except for big truck tires.
