You get what you pay for. If you want traction get a set of DR's.

the sumi issue runs from one side of the spectrum to the other. some people love them, some people hate them. id say they are a DAMN good tire for the money. where else could you get 315s for $96 each? check out tirerack.com, and read the reviews for the sumis. there are quite a few people with f bodies who sent in a review, and love their sumis. really not many who hated them. and yeah, sure, a DR will grip better, but thats a DRAG RADIAL, not an everday tire. i know someone who daily drives on 315 sumis, rain and all, and says they are fine, no problems. if you drive through rain, and more importantly snow, then id look for something a little better, more all-season then sumis. im pretty sure Falken makes their 615s in 315/18. they are fantastic tires, (best in dry of course but OK in rain), and cheaper then most other brands in compairable sizes.

tirerack.com is your best source for info and prices. ETD or discounttiredirect.com are also good.

Most of the time its right but for the sumitomo HTRZ II those tires hold ground. For the price u pay that tire damn well holds the road very good. The tread dies out quicker then your average tire but best tire for the buck in my opnion.

I would have to agree on the cheap tires. Kind of like cheap shoes, they really are cheap for a reason. I really like the General Exclaim UHP on my wife's car. They're probably the "best" inexpensive tire I've had.
