Rim/tire/$ question
Rim/tire/$ question I know this has prolly been covered already, but....I'm wondering if 4 c6 style rims 18 x 9.5 w/ +56mm offset with a set of 4 275-40-18 sumitumo htr ZII.........would fit on my non-lowered, stock suspension,with no spacers 1998 trans am with out rubbing or BFH mods?
I've heard the Tires won't work!!!...the 275-40-18 are supposedly too tall; instead I must use 275-35-18....is this true?
The problem is that I would really like to get the 275-40 sumo tires to work cause they're only $108.00 a piece...... The 275-35's are $40.00 more!
Any suggestions you guys?............or am I just bein' a cheap ****???

275/35ZR18 is the beeter sized tire since the OD will be that same as stock.
If you run the 40 series the tire is taller than stock, and IMHO defeats the "image" of a 18" wheel since your sidewall height will be the same sa a stock SS.
