Need some tire help

Which drag radial size would be better for a 2000 TA WS6?

225/45R17
or
205/40R17

I don't know too much about tire sizes so I need the help. I currently have 275/40Z17. What is the difference in the numbers? Would they fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking about getting some BFG G-Force DRs and I am trying to figure out which size is better.

I'm no drag radial expert, but I'd say you're better off with the 225/45/17 for two reasons.
1. They're wider.
2. They're taller.

Both yield more surface area.

Just do the same size drag radials as the stock tires... 275/40-17.

Yeah I decided to stick with the stock tires size for now until I can deside on my slicks/skinnies.
