A yes or no with Avon tech M500?
I need 4 new tires and I do not want to pay too much(lowest price for the best value in fact).
I can get 4 of these for 79$ each on tirerack.
Comments are very good and theyre also rated excellent in different tests.
A yes or a big NO???

I had khumo ecsta and the traction was surprisingly very very good. i'm running M/T DR right now and its because I'm planning on doing lil bit of 1/4 mile run, but thats it. My car loves high RPM so I get my power while at higher speed , so harder to make it spin unless I dump the clutch hard.
I'll keep checking...

Just remember when your chosing the tires they are the only thing holding your car to the ground. Not the place to go cheep, unless they will be your reason not to street race. I've had very bad experiances with my cars and friends cars saying "if i save a little on the tires. . ." Just my .02 cents.

They're good tires. I've had a few friends run them with alot of success. Dont let the price tag fool you and dont let people who are saying "dont go cheap" sway you when they've never tried the tires themselves.

i just replaced a set of falkens that were shot w/ only 21k miles on them... i got some Continental ContiExtremeContact 275/40/17's for $690 installed w/ road hazard replacement and a 40k mile warrenty at discount tire (theres a shop local here in indiana, so i didnt order them online)... they hook good and seem to hold the road well...
i was going to get some BFG Gforce KDWS for $175 apiece (the continentals were $130) but they were out of stock, and i asked them what would be a long lasting tire that handles good and hooks good and they recommended the continentals, and they seem to be doing great (ive only put like 100 miles on them but i did get stuck in the rain today and i couldnt even tell it was raining by how the car was handling it)
now as long as they last 40k miles ill be happy.
FWIW the continentals were about $9 cheaper per tire than the kumho ASX's and had a longer warrenty (40k vs 30k)

BTW; I have Falken 512s on the car now, and I am VERY disappointed with the wear. They wore out quicker than my BFG KDs, and I drove the Falkens about 1/2 as hard as the KDs!!
I try the Avon M550s next, A LOT less $$$ than the B-stone 960s which would be my other choice.
