tires for an 11" wheel?
tires for an 11" wheel? i feel like this question probably comes up a lot, but i did a search and found nothing.
i have a chance to buy a set of Torq Thrust II's for a good price. they are 17x9.5 and 17x11. the fronts have 275/40/17 nitto 555's on them. So i want to have the tires matching, and am looking for nitto 555's for the rear. the widest they make for a 17" wheel is 285. from what ive seen, this isnt recommended.
they DO make the 555r in a 315, but that looks to be too wide for my liking (dont want to have to do modifications to make it fit) and i dont know how good it is to run a DR on the street all the time.
SO the questions.
1. is 285 too narrow for an 11" rim?
2. bad idea to run DRs on a DD?
3. do they really have to match all around?

run 315s on 11s. I've ran DRs on DDs. Right now im actually running autocross tires. Just be careful in the rain. And no they dont have to match. But if you do have 11s. Get 315s. You wont regret it.
