Default Plastic lugnut covers '02 SS

Ruined a tire about a 100 miles from home and the other three were thin so bought a new set. The tire guys didn't snug the plastic covers so I was short 3 caps when I got home. Anyone out there have any of these?

I had this problem also after having my tires rotated...dude apparently messed up 2 of them or something in the process of rotating my tires...anyhow...I called the place back and they wound up calling the local GM dealership and hooked me up with the 2 that they replaced...I'm not sure of the GM part number though...I'd have to look in my car because I think I saved one of the baggies that they came in...hope that helps man...I think price wise they are like 5 or 6 bucks apiece...somewheres around in there

They make metal ones.

I'd ditch the plastic and go that route. That way you don't have to worry about them cracking.

Thats why I bring my wheels to the tire store in the back of my pick up. When possible obviously.
I got a spare silver cover in the bag and a set that was sitting in the floor of a parts car. The new ones always stick out like a sore thumb, they're not painted they're colored plastic.
I put a little silicone sealer on the inside, over tightening is just as bad as under tightening them.
When you use silicone, they come right off with a wrench, and when you put them back on they fit tighter.

One of the best things I did was buy a set of lugnuts. Don't have to worry about them falling off or losing them. You can get a set with locks from a local auto parts store for about 25$. You wont be dissapointed and like I said it will look better.

I hate those dumb lug covers. Had them on stock wheels with lug locks - After stripping the locks enough I just went and got some regular lugs.

I'll soon be getting some 10 spoke SS wheels with a lug set that should come with the covers. Not sure what color yet, but I sure as hell won't use them anyway. I believe I've got full sets of covers for the stock T/A, C5 y2ks and (soon) SS wheels - so if anyone needs any then PM me.

Got a set at SLP. Take offs. Lugs and covers under a buck apiece.
