Question TTII's have brake clearance issues?

Hey guys,

At the moment I have 17x9.5 ZR1's all around on my car. The car is lowered and also has a Wilwood 4 piston caliper brake kit on the front and the Zr1's just barely clear the calipers (spokes just miss from hitting the face of the caliper).

My question...

I am thinking about getting TTII's next summer for the car, but I thought I have read there are clearance issues when it comes to brakes on the front of cars, and also when the car is lowered if you go with 11" wide in the rear.

Any insight/help would be appreciated. I am just throwing the idea out there right now as I am thinking of switching things up a bit and trying something new for the car, so if they would fit I may look into getting me a set.

Thanks guys!

TT2's are not going to clear your calipers.

How do you know that?

I have TTII's currently with C5 brakes on all fours. They fit with a 5/16" spacer.

By the way Young gun, I want to sell my wheels. If you're interested in purchasing a little earlier then spring get a hold of me.

There was a guy on here with a silver vert SS that has Bear brakes and I don't think he used spacers.

Isn't one of the Bear kits the same as the C5 brakes?

I believe there is a silver formula as well that has that setup as well. I asked him a couple times how he did it but I don't remember if he answered.

I would like to know if there is a good aftermarket brake setup that will fit behind my 18" TT2's. I have the crappy LT1 single pistons and they are just horrible. I was thinking of upgrading to LS1 brakes but I think I may want to get better.

Those powder coated wheels look awesome on your car. I was thinking about putting them on my car. The grey looks kick *** on a red car, which mine is red too. How much did it cost to powder coat them?

I can't say really what it cost me because I got a hook up and was asked not to say. It was worth every penny though

with 18" you could go with c6 z06 14" brakes.... but i think most racers perfer c5 brakes.... in your case i would order up ls1 spindals with c5 rotors and calipers and the umi coverversion bracket......steel lines and a fresh fluid flush with hawk pads..... i have the c5 brakes my self and 18" chrome tt2 on order... i know the 17" version requires a 5/16" spacer to fit with the c5 conversion due to the curvature of the spokes... but im hoping the 18" with be a direct bolt on.... ill let you know brian
