I 295/50 will stick out way too far I think. And I believe they would be a 28" tall tire and not 26"

I probably wouldnt put a 295/50/15 in Tire on a 15in rim, The sidewall might be a real problem, A 275/50/15 works great and is 26' but if you really need more tire than that go with a 275/60/15 it will be 28'

This is what my car looks like with a 275/50/15 in BFgoodrich D/R

295 fits nicely on a 10" rim. They are 26.6-27" tall and 11.5" wide

A 295 50 15 or 275 60 15 both fit nice on a 15x8, you could put a 295 60 15, but it is like 29 or 30" tall and most likely will rub the wheel well opening, I've had the 295 50 15 and 275 60 15 on my car and both fit great as long as you have the right backspace and it should "not" rub at all if you have the backspace right.

Just for your info even though they say a 275 60 15 is 28" tall it is not, it's 27" and is taller than the 295 50 15, as far as the small tires up front if you run drag stuff most of the M/T et fronts or sportsman fronts that say they are 26" are really between 24 1/2 and 25". JFYI
