Default what size pro stars?

Well I am i nthe market for some pro stars and was wondering if any sponsors had a good rice on a set. I am thinking of going 15X3.5 in the front and 15X10 in the rear. I have seen a couple of F-bodies with the 325 in the rear and was wondering what all did it take to make it fit.

I know I have to grind my calipers, and bogarts ar not in the budget.

If you would reccomend somehting else let me know and why.

I know there are people on here that have a set up very similar as it seems like everyone runs pro stars.

15x10 w/ a 7.5" backspace is the norm. t/a's can get away with a 6.5 backspace but i think the 325's may stick out a bit withe the 6.5" the fronts are 1.75" backspace. and get ready to grind for awhile.

Nice thread... I'm in the same boat but with a 15x4 inch front wheel. My rear tire was going to be a 275/50/15... would you guys go any wider? Also, with a 15x4 inch front wheel, what tire would you go with?

I'm setting the Camaro up for the street, no slicks here.

Well I may rethink about what tires I go with, or just buy them and make them fit. the 325's look great but are they really worth it?

I know I can pick some 15X8's up pretty cheap, but I am looking for more down the road and think I will need to put a little more tire than what the 15X8 can give me.

a 28" tire is way overkill for your car in its current state. u will be able to go 135 mph in 4th gear in your car at 6500. it will most likely slow u down a good bit. the only plus to using that tire on your car would be it looks badass.

I know it will hurt my performance right now but I am not thinkign of my current power levels. I am thinking of right around 600-650 rwhp. even then I think I can get by with a 15X8 but don't know exactly.

What do you think tommy? I just want to do something once and do it right.

I'm running 15x3.5 with 165/80/15 Kumho front tires and 15x10 with 275/60/15 rear with 6.5 backspacing. My rearend is narrowed 1 1/4in on each side so I would suggest 7.5 backspacing.

id get a 15x10 just incase. u can still run a 275/50 or a 26" et drag on that rim. i have been doing it for awhile. and u have room to grow if need be. but u really dont need that much tire. only reason i went to a 28" tire is because of my 4.11 gear. if i had 3.73's like u do i would have tried to keep the 26's. i would have atleast gave them a shot.

You could run a 275/60/15 mt drag radial on a 15x8 with 5.5 backspace without any rubbing issues. 15x10's with 7.5 backspace you can run either a 315 or 325 drag radial, but would need to roll the fender lips and "massage" the wheel well for it to fit without rubbing.

15x4's dont fit with the available backspacings without major work. u will need to run the 3.5's with 1- 3/4 b/s.

Tommy or anyone that has driven your car on the street much with the 15X3.5 up front, how was the handling on the steet. I know they are not going to be great but are they bearable. I ask as these rims will most likely stay on the car, but not see too many miles a year on the steeet. I never take it on the highway so it shouldn't be a problem, what do you think.

its doable but i wouldnt do it at all. anything less than a 6" rim on the front is just way too small. and also the 3.5's are not dot legal. and u really have to remember they are on there-its very easy to roll the tire off the rim.

I was kinda thinking that as well. How much would I actually be leaving on the table if I went to a 15X5 or 15X6 in the front.

Also since the 15X5 and 15X6 both have a 3.5 backspace would they fit or do would they need some love to get them to fit properly.

they wont fit at all with the ls1 brakes. so either u have to buy areospace brakes of stick the 3.5's.

also just an fyi. to use them safely u really need longer wheel studs. i got by for a little while using the stockers but i had to retorque them after every pass as they would come loose.
