Have your tire pressure set at like 25 psi at the track. it wont hurt anything for a short time but put them back up to the facory recommended setting of 30 as soon as you get home. As for tires, i'm going to go with the stock size with a pirelli p zero nero (as soon as my shitty good years wear out). They are really sticky and last a good while if you stay on top of checking your tire pressure and rotating them. hope i helped

No prob, it's pretty much the only i know like the back of my hand so i'm happy to help you out. For daily driving, you really shouldn't go any lower than 30 psi because that low pro tire has to work overtime to support the weight of the car (as opposed to like a 60m or 70 series tire). that's were i run mine all the time and i never have any problems (except when i wack the throttle haha). When your at the track however, in the winter run like 25 and in the summer you can get away with 20 or so. but like i said, air it right back up to 30 as soon as you get the chance.

The reason I asked which you were getting is that I am comfused. You Said ET Street...which brings this to mind- though they are measured as 26x11.50

But then you also said 315/40...so I must assume that you meant the ET Street Drag Radial or these-

I just ordered a set of the latter for my car that I run 17x11's...I am praying that they are much better than my Nitto DR's(also 315's). Everyone I hang around swears by the mickey T's.
Now the 275's they offer are still in the older tread pattern- this is what my friends are running for the most part...no one has the new tread yet.

you can see them all at MT's website with a quick search.

BTW in my nitto's, I run 18 psi at the track for the best launch in my car. But with the new stage 4 spec- the nitto's are HARD to get a decent launch on. I also only run about 24 psi on the street or the centers wear out FAST.

i have the new style m/t e/t DRAG RADIALS mounted on stock 17x9.5" wheels. they do bulge a little, but i HAVE NOT had any wear issues yet and i run about 28 - 32 lbs in them. the only thing i did to make them fit was a very little amount of BFH'ing to the inner fender around the front of the tire. maybe a 3 - 3.5" diameter circle beat in 1/8" or less. im currently TDY in south dakota, but ill see if my buddy that has my car back home will email me some pics...

I have 315/35r17 Nitto 555r's on some stock ws-6 wheels. I do not spin on the launch anymore, but on stock stall @ 22psi my 60 foot times are sucking @ 2.09. 315's on 17x9's are possible, and I drive my car 60 miles a day to work and back.

A) a person can do a lot of things, putting 315s on 9 inch wheels for example; this does not make it a good idea. Talk to any of the number of people who have had blowouts from doing this, and compare it to the non-existant crowd of people who just settled for the 275 40 17s.
B) MT et streets in a 275 will always hook better than Nitto 555Rs, regardless of width. There is only one person in the world that I've ever heard of getting those tires to stick. So if you're not lowered and twin turbo'd, move up to some mickey's.
