Default how do you like the sumitomo's?

i have seen alot of bad talk about them here on the tech,

i'm now on the 3rd set of wheels/tyres on the camaro,

bougth a wheel/tyre package from oewheels for about a month ago and got GS wheels with 275/40ZR17 in the front and 315/35ZR17 in the back,

i thougth they would be bad.. but those are the best "driving" tyres i've had, whery little road noise and soft,

i do agree though.. the do not hook well, and take much abuse.. but for just driving around they are grate!

Well, sumitomos are the more "affordable". Let's face it, some guys don't like them becasue they're cheap. Most of the time, it's they guys talking bad about them that have never had them. If you like em, then that's all that matters.

i think it has something to do with them not having the V pattern most low profiles have..

I love mine. I use to sport Dunlops 8000 but the discontinued them. Either way they're cheap, last longer than the Dunlops did and the look good. My opinion though.

How can you beat a set of radials for around $500 unless you have the extra $ to spend?? Mine are being mounted today! PS-If your looking for 315's they are in short supply, PM to find out who has some left, Tomz does not!!!

I've got them on my TA and don't have any complaints. They damn sure don't like being on a H/C/I 6 spd car because I left over 400ft worth of tire on the road the other day

EDIT: Mine are the HTRZ IIs

I got the HTrz II's on my car and they hook great, you can barely brake the tires loose on a roll now. They are a little noisy, but nothing bad.

The new HTRZ III's look great. I have Riken Raptor ZR's and like them. Sometimes they hook, sometimes not. Just like a track.

I had the HRTZ II's on my 300zx TT. I liked them a lot, the only time I had traction issues with them was when it was really cold outside. They are a very affordable tire, quite, and smooth ridding tire. When I get wheels for my T/A i'll probably get that tire again.

I have ran many types of tires! I LOVE THEM! The people that say bad thing about then buy $300+ tires and i think its a waste to spend that much $

When i was in Hawaii i ran HRTZ II's for years and putthem on about 9 other friends cars and we loved them. Now that i am in Missouri i run the sumo performance all season and not that bad compared to the HRTZ II's but i did loose some traction going to the sumo all seasons but i will be able to drive my car in the cold weather! If you are anywhere really cold where you get snow/ice and you got the summer tire HRTZ II's they will suck bad! The ones i got now are great year round but they dont have the aggressive thread design as the HRTZ II's

I love my sumi's they are a great tire for the price, however if you go to the track dont expect a good time because they dont usually run the greatest times.

I got 'em in the rear - for 315's you can't beat the price....they actually hook OK on my car w/ the 2.73 gear....but if I were running a lower gear they would probably suck for traction

with the HRTZ II's i cut 1.9-20 60ft with m6 and 413whp! It depends on what tire you have! Now with the all season tires i spin alot more!

They're hard to beat for the price for a daily driver.

I got them on mine, when they were new they were great in wet/dry traction, but once they started wearing out, dry traction became a major issue, but you can't beat the price compared to other tires
