Default Why are Options for 17x11 so limited?

The only REASONABLY priced 17x11s are zr1s or torque thrusts. The selection seems so limited. I want 17 inch rims because 18 inch rims cost wayyyy more for 315's, and have a very thin sidewall. I cant find anything that is reasonably priced besides the zr1's, which are nice, or the torque thrusts, which i do not like. Is there any other option for 17x11 inch rims?

I went ZR1s 17x11 which are cheap now at Tomzwheels --->.

Now try 315 tires if you think 17x11 wheels are fun.

They are limited because only a handful of cars on the road can actually fit an 11" wide wheel. Not enough market for them to justify creating cheap wheels that size.

LOL, what the hell does this have to do with the original question?? I swear some people just don't friggin read at all.

And to the poster, I agree with Nineball. Not too many cars have the room without sometimes extensive modification to run wheels that wide.

other options would pretty much be the same deal but for the manufacturers who make 17x10.5 which will get you a few more options but still, nothing out of this world....TTM's, oem Z06 replicas, etc etc

Seeing you can't put 275/40/17 tires on 11" wheels, finding tires to fit the new wheels is also a task.

...good luck!

What the hell are you talkin about?? Both your posts in this thread are pointless.

1) he already knows he wants 11" wide wheels & is gonna need 315 tires. He was just wondering on options available in our bolt pattern & proper backspacing.

2) A 315 series tire in a 17" is NOT hard to find. Look below:

I called Tire Rack and Discount Tire and six more tire stores in my state and outside NY and no one has any Goodyear 315s in stock.

If you can find some, let me know.

No one really does stock 315s. Here is why im asking. I used to have 18x10.5 zo6 replica rears, the CHEAPEST 315's would have costs 600 for a pair, Which is crazy. I see deals all day long on 315's for 17 inch rims, another benefit of 17 over 18 is that there is more sidewall, with my 18's i spun the tires all day (460lbs of tq). Im sure i could have just broke and went with some 275 DR's but i want 315s for that extremely aggressive look that camaros are notorious for. But therein lies the problem, the look of the Zo6's, vs the functionability of 17's, despite having a better look. The only 17s i think are nice are the ZR1's, without spending too much money atleast. If only they made the ZO6 replicas in 17x11 for the rear =[. End rant.

I ordered ZR1 in 17x11 last week. I am currently debating whether to wait 90 days for Goodyear to make a set of 315x17x35 that I can buy from a very limited number of vendors for 300 clams each, or or to go with BF Goodrich KDs.

I'm not crazy about the BFG profile compared to the Goodyear.

Since my current tires are newish, I may wait.
