Default What to do with old SS wheels and tires?

I have a set of 4 factory ZR1 wheels 17x9 and new 275/4-/17 tires mounted.

Are these worth selling; if yes, what are they worth and how hard is it to ship them?

Seeing as how youre from NY, how much does it snow there? If you drive your car in the snow, keep em and stick some winter tires on em.

True this. You never know when you're going to get a flat or shred a tire or even 2 tires go out. Nothing worse then getting 2 flats and only having 1 spare

I have seen the wheels in good shape for $300, so if the tires are in good shape you could get $600 maybe. If the tires and wheels are in excellent shape maybe more.

I find that it is best to keep them. I've sold a couple of sets of wheels and tires for cheap but if i could, I'd a kept them. I sold some 16" chrome 5 stars for $450 shipped, shipping was $200. Rims were 9 out of 10. Also sold some 17" ten spokes for $300 shipped, shipping was $100. I had put about 20 hours into them, since I had stripped them and was close to getting a good polish on them 8 out of 10, no damage, just not perfect polishing job). More recently a set of 20" wheels with almost brand new goodyears in 275/45/20 which cost $$600 for $400.

Yeh, I thought shipping was going to be expensive.

Can you take a set of wheels to UPS, Mailboxes Ect. or other shipping location and use 6-day ground shipping for "cheap"? Do they box "em" up for you? Do you make the buyer pay shipping?

Is the sale done through E-bay? How does this work?

I would keep them but I have had the car for 9 years and I never needed a replacement wheel or got stuck with only one spare tire. Besides, they take up too much room in the basement.

id make the buyer pay shipping. no matter where you put them ebay here etc. you might have to pay have shipping if your real desperate to get rid of them and the buyer doesnt have all the money. good luck either way.

A full-service center will box them up for you but they charge an arm and an *** to do it. I boxed them all up myself and saved some money. Then I got the dimensions and weight for the boxes and calculated them on-line. They should be close to what the actual charge will be from the store.

if your not hurting for money keep them! you can use them for drag wheels or winter tires! If you dont drive your car in winter keep 2 of them to throw some drag tires on them and sell the other 2
