Default Your PERSONAL story about hubcentric rings...

As we all know (and it has been beaten to death for a while) about the issue over using hubcentric rings for wheels that are not perfect fits for our f-bodies. There are many that say they have no issues with safety and lug bolts (and there are a lot of people on this forum alone that use them with no said issues, and there are also many people that say they would never install wheels that are not a perfect fit no matter what. However, I have YET to hear one single story on here where someone with a wheel that needs hubcentric rings (HP EVOs for ex) having an issue.

So, we can say its not safe all we want (theoretically I totally understand the scientific argument why it is not the "best" idea) but I like to hear personal stories if anyone has ever had a problem. I have yet to hear any. So let's here it if you stumble upon this thread and have had an issue with wheels that are not hubcentric on our cars.

I plan on buying these wheels:

So as a last step in information/knowledge, I'd like to actually hear from anyone out there that has had bad experience with this idea.

Thanks!

(I don't think I need to make this thread into a voting "poll" thread. But if people want me to I will. --- I also searched for a thread like this with no results.)

if you get the correct hub centric rings you should be fine. finding them and dealing with them is another story.

You should be fine and have no issues. Hub centric rings just center the wheel onto the factory hub. They will help eliminate some vibrations. I run hub rings on my daily and I have had no issues. All I can say is that it did get rid of some of the vibrations I was experiencing.

Got it.

It's just I hear all the cons for this setup by so many people that have a strong opinion towards not using those type of wheels, but I have yet to hear one single story of a person having an issue due to it.

Thanks Guz

K. Looks like we don't have any personal stories with problems with this ordeal.

Any preference on wheel ring material?

Thanks.

I also heard that the metal ones were not the best choice. I can't pinpoint the reason why, though.

The place I order the wheels from matches the wheel with the car you own and send out the hubcentric rings as a package when you buy the wheels. I may just use them unless I see they are crap.

I am using the Hubcentric rings that come with the wheel pkg and they work great.
I can tell that they are not a real easy install because of the tight fit.
You will need to tighten all the lugs to force the wheel down around the rings, make sure the wheels are flat against the Rotor then loosen all the lugs slightly, then torque them in sequence.

I have broke one of my studs but the consenses on here was that it was NOT related to the Lug pattern.
