Default How big until they rub?

I have a 2001 Camaro SS and I was wondering how big of a tire can you go before you need to roll the fenders? 285, 295, 305? Any ideas!? Thanks!

Ive heard of the stock 275s rubbing. it all depends on the car, but anymore than 295 seems to always rub. I even had to BFH with my 295s.
These guys saying 315s dont rub without modification are drag racers who only worry about going in a staight line.

Well I know Nittos do run very narrow. I guess your 315 Nittos are narrower than my BFGs. Or you dont take turns as hard as i do.

The wheels affect the rubbing issue more . . . my 275's rub front and rear . . . but that's due to the wheel offset being 38 mm . . .

On my other car my 295's in back rubbed the wheel well lip, but that again is due to the wheel offset . ..

NO RUBBING on 99' SS:

Wheel = ZR1 50 offset in 17 inch
Tire = 315x30x17 Versdstein
Suspension = modified but stock springs/height

a 315-30-17 is smaller in diameter than stock size. I wouldnt imagine there would be rubbing with them.

I have no issues with rubbing. Strano setup should be coming soon so I will probably have to make some mods.
