Cleaning Fikse's I have a set of FM/10's that are in need of some TLC. The main problem is they are water marked to hell, there are water spots all over them. I've been to Fikse's website and it says a 50/50 mix of simple green and water then washing them like that. Unfortunately it isn't enough and I don't want to hurt the finish. They are TechniPolish with a polished lip, do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks!
Easy. Since I don't want you to ruin your wheels, I am going to advise you to call Meguiars. They have a free hotline you can call for professional advice. The number is usually on the back of every product they sell. Although I do a lot of detailing, I don't think my judgement is good enough to tell you what to do. Ask the Meguiars rep about their Wheel Brightner for your wheels, then polish them up with some Hot Rims or NXT metal polish. That should bring them back to life.

I clean mine with a little soap and water. I polish the lip with Mothers Billet metal polish every so often. Works like a charm. If I do happen to get pesky water spots on the lip I use a "very fine" steel wool and polish it out with the billet polish.
For the clear coated centers I just use zaino when I do the rest of the car. If you have water spots on the centers just clay bar them, that should take it out.
My FM5's have been on the car for 25k miles and still look as good as the day I put them on.

I only use soap and water. I don't trust Simple Green. Eagle One Mag Polish for a good scrub/polish. Mother's Billet for fine polish.

I didn't think of claybaring them, thats a great idea! I talked to Fikse and they said just simple green, and if its real tough, not to dilute it. Neither way worked but I did manage to polish it all off the bare metal, I bet the claybar will get the rest on the centers. They are 17x12's on the rear so once the 315's are dead it'll see some 335's!
I'll get some pics up really soon, they are for the white TA and the car should be finished tomorrow (H/C, tranny & suspension). I'll have to put some miles on it to break everything in so I think I'll go downtown and take some shots after its clean.
