DD?? hmm... i'ld rather have a spare... or spend the 70$/year for AAA!!! and get alot more for the $$ then an insurance company can offer... 4 free tows up to 100miles per year, discounts on hotels, food, so much more...it's worth it!!!

No spare in my car either. Thinking about taking it out of my truck as well because I cant use it anyway as I don't have the stock size tires on it. Won't ever use fix-a-flat either. That stuff absolutely RUINS wheels, period.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I'd drive my car on that POS little donut of a spare tire...my fiance can come get me in my truck after she grabs one of my snow tires/wheels out of the garage.

Anyone know what everything weighs?

I have a pretty stock Formula and recently took all of it out for a local "car meet"....heard it was somewhere around 25 lbs for everything. I guess every pound counts when it comes down to making the car move!

And they are also hell to get back situated correctly!!!!

I DD my car, and have had the spare out for awhile. But I only drive 3 miles to and from work so thats why i keep it out. If i had a decent drive to work I would leave it in.

I drive 30k miles a year....all last summer I didn't have a spare, for some reason I put it back in. No more than 2 weeks later, I come out of work at 9pm on a friday night in downtown St. Louis, and the car is sitting on the rim. 2 holes in the sidewall 40 miles from home. SOOO glad I had a spare. 7 minutes later I was on the road again. Depending on where you are going, it may be a good idea just to throw the tire in the back or something. Flat tires are something you can't avoid.

I've only used the spare tire one time on all of my vehicles. I would take it out for a nitrous bottle but not a battery.

I took my spare out, and had two flat tires in less than a month. I think my car just hates me though.

Default Spare Tire

A lot of performance cars now come from the factories with no spare tire, just a can of fix-a-flast and small compressor.
