ive used my spare twice, and both times it would have sucked without it because i was pretty far from home. I wouldnt take it out.

why would you need the spare?
even if you had a flat would you put it on?
i would rather starve to death on the side of the road
than be seen driving with that dinky little tire on my car.

I just recently took my spare out. I figure that if I ever go far enough away from home then I will take it with me but otherwise I am never far from home and I would rather pay for a flatbed then drive on the spare. And I will be buying a cheap full size spare for this reason. And I am trying to be a very light formula so it had to go!

No spare here, it would look kinda funny with a donut and a 315 out back.

I haven't had the spare in the car for a couple of years if I had to guess. I put a full size 245/50/16 tire and a hydraulic jack in the rear hatch if I go on an out-of-state roadtrip. I did the fix-a-flat thing with my 95 TA, and the dealer reprimanded me on how much work it is to clean that crap out. Never used it again. I've gotten pretty lucky the last couple of years. I've had nails in various tires but they didn't leak.

I have gone and removed my spare as well. The only time I've ever gotten a flat so far is when I ran over a nail, that was weaksauce. I also have AAA under my belt in case **** goes awry, but for longer and out of state trips I throw a 245 in the back. Better safe than fked, right?

My daily, which is my 88 Formy as long as the weather is good, has no spare or jack in it. It came with the space saver spare. Which for those who dont know.........its deflated and comes with a can so you can inflate it when you need it. Pretty lame.

I keep mine on hand. Since I take the Z on road trips I can't risk not having cell service and I'll be d@mned if I leave her on the side of the road. I have thought about using the fix-a-flat and compressor though but how do you keep that stuff pinned down while driving? If the spare becomes loose it drives me insaine back there. Then again I do like the extra weight pushing down on the rear axle.

+1 on wanting to see pics of that spare setup. I don't keep my spare in unless I go on a long road trip(out of state). Besides that I don't worry about it.
