Default 275's on 10.5?

Does anyone have any pictures of a 275/40/17 on a 10.5" wheel?

Before anyone starts going off as to why anyone would do that, I'll tell you. I bought BFG G-sports about six months ago. Now I've decieded I want wheels.. I would like to run 17x9 in front and 17x10.5 in rear.

Problem being they don't make G-sports any wider than 275 for 17" wheel. BFG's website claims they will fit up to an 11" wheel. The sticky on this page shows the smallest for a 10.5" should be a 285..

Any help is appreciated.

sorry i couldnt find any pics, probably because everyone knows not to do that, but the sticky is right. dont put a 275 on a 10.5 inch wheel... the sidewalls are going to slope out and that looks terrible

285's are better but those belong on a 9.5" wheel or maybe even 10" wheel. my bro has 295's on his 18x10.5 z06's and they look good...i wouldn't go any smaller than a 295 tho. i have 295's on an 18x9.5 z06 wheel..

^Yes, 295's is what you folks want. 285's fit but it's going to look stretched and completely less aggressive. There should be pics of 285's on 10.5inch rims around here, so you can see for yourself.

Here's a pic of my 285/40/17 kumho tires on 10.5 rim. I got a killer deal so I couln't pass up on the price, i really wanted 315's but I didn't want to dish out the cash since this is my second set of wheels. I have 315's on my hawk rims and the size was about the same. If you go 285 you'll be fine

Dont take advice from those who insist on squeezing too wide a tire onto too narrow a wheel or vice versa. A 10.5" wide wheel can fit anywhere from a 285 to a 315 depending aspect ratios and wheel diameter. A 275-40-17 can be stretched onto a 10.5" wheels, but it will not look good and, I would think, could cause wearing issues.
My question to you is, why would you buy wheels that were too wide for the tires? Why buy a wider rim for the rear, if they will be the same size tires as the front?

^ i was thinking the same thing. if you're getting a wider wheel for the rear, get a wider tire

So to put it simply, I would have to replace all four tires (that are practically brand new) if I wanted to go wider in the rear. Because I wouldn't want mismatched tires....

But thanks for the help, I have just decided to go with 9" ttm's all around.
