Default 265/35/18 Wrong Size?

I bought 265/35/18 tires for my 18" rims on my TA and they're alittle small and I should of bought the 275/35/18. Is there much of a tire size difference and will the 275's fill my wheel well out a lot more? Is there another size I should look at? I plan to lower my car with Strano springs and want to get the best look possible. Thanks

For 18 inch wheels you need 285/35 18 or wider. IMO 265 in smaller than the factory tires and 275 is stock width. Take advantage of the wider wheels.

Wait, what?

When you say 18 inch rims you are referring to the diameter of the rim.

You did not specify the width of the rim at all, which is what you're going to need to know before deciding what size of tire you'll need.

We definitely need to know the width of the wheel but most 18" wheels use a 275-295 width tire.

My rim size is 18 x 9. Would the 285\35\18" look better then my 265's?

Yes, they would look better and have much better road feel. On a 9" rim you could still do a 275. I haven't checked in a while but I would imagine there is a wider variety of choices in that size.

Anybody have any tire choices for me on my size? What are good everyday non-track tires? Thanks

305/30/18 and 275/35/18 and yes they will fit...i had 315's on stock ws6 wheels
would be my set up if i had 18's
not being able to rotate is going to wear the fronts out twice as fast as normal......you will have inside/outside shoulder wear

18x9? If the money is spent just use the 265's, they'll look and work fine. No worries here.

Post pics.

Dont listen to these guys who put 315s on the stock rims.

A 265-35-18 is a good size for a 18x9. You could also go 275-35-18 but not 285-35-18. Hopefully Xsta Z28 will chime in.

275/40/18 would work too if you wanted to up the height and keep a 40 series sidewall for comfort

thats cool......i would rather scuff my rim because there isnt enough tire beyond the rim........
whats cheeper to replace.....a tire or a rim....

not only do 315's look better......but "if" for god sakes something happens and you get too close to a curb.....265's arent going to save the rim at all

end result.....do what you want to do....

So youd squeeze WAY to big a tire on too small a rim and potentially have it be dangerous, rather than just be careful around curbs. OK, thats smart.

been in the tire industry 6yrs......never had a single prob.....and you are telling me that is dangerous....hhmmmm i better tell all the IRL teams over here in park100 "behind my shop" that i shouldnt mount their tires because they are way too big and could be dangerous on their cars.........doubt it.....
andretti/green racing has me mount 15in tires on 11 in rims all day long
let me get you a pic of this......then their phone number so you can give them advice.....LOL

I run a 265/35/18 front (9.5" rim) and 295/30/18 rear (10.5" rim). I prefer my tires to look more like \ / over / \ Going this route will reduce sidewall flex and increase steering response.

exactly.....i would rather have someone say....." those tires are awesome" than.....walk away and say....."he should have went bigger on those rims"
