30,000 miles is impressive! I will be lucky if i get 2,000 out of my 555r's but that might have a little to do with my driving habits I do like their overall performance though. Running 275/60r15's on my chevelle with a 3500 stall and they hook great. Good for 1.75-1.8 60 ft times.

They have 6/32 nds of tread depth. They will never be exceptional in the rain. When they are new you can get by ok. I was in an absolute downpour on the interstate with mine when they were newer. I got through, but it was not overly comfortable, and I was really easy on the car. Now they are nearly bald and would not dream of trying to drive them very far in the rain.

Back in 05' I lost my 97 Z28 Convertible due to some 555R's in the rain. I was on the freeway doing about 60, then it started to pour like mad! I coasted down in between 30-35, but soon as hit a turnpike before I could find an exit, I hydroplaned and spun out and hit the guard rail. Luckily no one else was around. There is nothing more scarier then when your car's a$$ end just kicks out abruptly! I spun so much I enough time to push the clutch, try to counter steer, then just said forget it I wish I would stop or hit something to make me stop, lol. Luckily I was able to drive it back home, but I ended up selling it because the damage was to much for me to take on at the time, I just ended up getting a 98 Z28 the next summer. But lesson surely learned.

I have had the best wear from my 315 nitto by running 22 psi...even at that low- the insides wears a little faster. I always repaced mine a little before the way your drivers side looks....but that would only be ~18,ooo miles for me. the worst I got out of a set of nitto's was 16,000. 400rwhp 6 speed car.
Now I am running the MT DR...man they hook way better- but we'll see how long they last. I hear 5-7,000- but I got a little better than average from my nitto's. if they'll last 10,000 for mey- that'll be 2 years.
Anyhow- I'd say you got the goody out of those tires.

i have really liked mine, and they have lasted longer than any other drs i have had, maybe not the best hooking tire but my car sees way more street time than the track, mts are still beyond the best imo, also heard good things about hooiser and m&hs , but the nittos do pretty good in the rain etc,
