Wheel lock question?
Wheel lock question? I just picked up a 99 SS Camaro. The car has chrome ZR1's with one wheel lock per wheel. Problem is I didn't get the wheel key for them. I found the card from GM in the car with the numbers on it to order a new key. I called SLP and they said they didn't install locks on the wheels there and that it was a dealer option. So my question is if I take that card to a dealer and have them order a new key will it be the right one or will it be the key for the stock wheels that were on the car when it was shipped to SLP?
Most dealerships will not be able to give you any sort of key. Any dealership or tire show will be able to cut them off but charge you.
I speak from experience as I was in the same exact situation as you. Don't bother going to all these other places to try and get keys or whatnot.
Get a sledge hammer and pound a socket over the lock. Attach your socket wrench on the socket and twist them off.
5 minutes and it will be done and over with.
