if its so bad how come a ton of cars have done it with no problems???? If your tire is wide enough to hit the wheel lip you should of had the finder lip rolled to begin with

I have had mine off for about 20,000 miles made many 2000 miles road tips with Me 250lbs, the wife 120lbs, 80lbs german Shepherd and our stuff and i have never rubbed anything or hurt anything so i dont no why people think "I dont no how you can not run a bump stop"!!

Because your car sits like a 4x4. Lower it and THEN tell us how you like it.

99 Z28 with 17 x 11 ZR1's in the back with 315/35 BFG KDW tires AND lowered here...

I have an adjustable PH bar and I still didnt like how little space there was between the bump stop and inner edges of the tires after centering the rear. And actually, it was on droop, not compression that the bump stops would contact the tire and BARELY miss the rim.

I tried trimming the bump stops at first but ended up cutting them off completely. That, along with the BFH and rolling the fender lips took care of 99% of the rubbing.

However, if Im moving fast and hit the right kind of dip in the road, I still hear the tire scrape the inside of the wheel well... not frequently though and not enough to make me want to BFH any more than I have.

Oh yeah, drove it daily for 2 years without bump stops and 1 year as a weekend car and no ill effects that I can tell. Maybe the shocks are working harder... seems ok though.

Not side movement, the rear of the car moved so far downwards the wheel well lip contacted the sidewall of the tire and cut it.

Looking at where the bump stops are and what it is hitting I can see it doing damage.

Eliminating the rubber and having the metal on your fender come down and have contact with your rear end will give you problems. Going with stock ride height I don't think will yield any problems, unless you are jumping rivers as mentioned.

Other half of it is if you think about it, they can help with traction. You have the momentum of the car moving back and wanting to push down on the rear end. The more there is to push down on the more force that will be applied.

Still wonder why the gap is non existent between my rims/tires and the bump stops. I know the rear is off a little but shifting it either way would require more grinding, and this is with smaller tires than most are using, unless 9.5 is the new 11!
