Painted my rims!
I dont want people critiquing them on an expert scale, cause like I said, im not. Just tell me if they look okay. And if they look shitty, well let me know that too! I think they look decent.

even for around town, it's pretty damn decent.

I scuffed up the orignal paint then I marked off the outside edges then begin lightly applying the black pain so I wouldnt get runs, then just keep applying light coats untill you get it all covered, its quiet cool actually that the original paint had glitter in it, and it shows through the black in the sunlight. Then after it dried apply the clear coat.
here's what i'd do:
1) strip off what's on there and get down to bare metal.
2) get some self-etching primer and spray down several light coats
3) lightly sand (with 800+ grit paper) those coats to get them smooth, then lay down a few more light coats and smooth those down also.
4) spray several light coats of FLAT black (NOT enamel or glossy black).
5) sand those smooth, then lay down a few more light coats of flat black and sand those smooth also.
6) lay down a few thin layers of clear.
7) yep, you guessed it, WETsand those smooth with 1000+ grit paper, then lay down a few more thin layers for the final clearcoat.
i'd leave about 15 - 30 mins in between each coat, and give it at least 2 hours before doing any sanding on it.
rattle-can is fine for all the above paint, since they are only going to be used at the track, and not for a show car or anything.....and get some masking tape, that stuff is cheap as hell, and will do a much better job than duct tape.......
