OEM C6 Wheel fitment Issues, Help!
Hey guys, I just bought some OEM C6 wheels. I haven't recieved them yet, but I hear the fronts will fit, but the 19" rears won't. I have no idea when it comes to wheel/tires sizes and offsets. What do I need to do to make these rims work and where can I but that stuff. Is there anyone who has done the stock C6 rims on their camaro or Trans Am that i may be able to talk to, so i can find out what size tires are suggested and what i need to make them work?

I just purchased some OEM C6 rims for my Z28 as well
I dont have the rims yet but from what I have gathered we will need 1.25" spacers for the rear wheels to fit.
I purchased some on ebay for $57 shipped

Holy ****! Surely you mean $570 shipped, right? I will get mine next week, but I am not putting them on until the end of this month. Keep in touch with me and let me know how it goes. How much are spacers and where can you get them. Any disadvantages to running spacers?

1.25" spacers for the rear, and I got mine off of eBay as well.
I'd run 275/30/19 on the rear 19x10's and 255/35/18 on the front 18x8.5's. I'm running OEM 19x10's on all 4 corners with 275/30/19 tires and I'm running the spacers on all 4 corners as well.

Do I really need the spacers for the fronts? Or just the backs? My whole idea is to have the backs as wide as possible, which I have heard you can run a 295 on them, and the fronts as skinny as possible, whats the thinnest tire you can do on the 18"x 8.5"? Tire siggestions, what are you guys running on the stock C6's?

Just the rear 19x10's need 1.25" spacers. The front 18x8.5 do NOT need spacers. The reason I run the spacers on the front is because I'm also running the 19x10's on the front too.
If you're looking to go as skinny as you can go on the front, you can run a 235 tire on a 8.5" rim. A lot of guys run 245/40/18 on the front, but when they run a 35 or 30 series on the rear, it just looks odd to me because the front tire then has A LOT more sidewall than the rears and it really looks bad IMO...that's why I ended up going 19's all the way around, the staggered size C6 rims can look odd if you aren't careful about what size tires you choose to run.

im curious to why you need a 1.25 spacer. i tired to use those with my C6Z wheels and they stuck out like crazy. i currently have a 1/8 spacer on mine and i just massaged in my innerwell along with area where spring buldge is. i dont even need the 1/8 spacer but wanted a little more aggressive stance and just a little bit more of clearence.
the one pic is before i did little more massaging. im just curious thats all. maybe the C6 wheels have a different offset i think mine are 74mm

Here's a pic of mine with OEM 19x10's all the way around, 275/30/19's on all 4 corners AND 1.25" spacers on all 4 corners.

YES! If you're running the OEM 19x10 C6 rims with 79mm offset, then you'll need a 1.25" spacer on the rear and/or front if you're going to run the same rim on the front.

and yes i plan on running 19's on all 4.
They look good. I hope they look the same on my car

Please rember that you only need the 1.25" spacers if you're running the OEM C6 19x10. If you order a reproduction C6 19x10 rim with the correct F-Body offset (NOT 79mm which is what the OEM C6 19x10 rims are), then you may not have to run spacers, or you may have to run a smaller spacer.
My application used the OEM C6 19x10 rims with 79mm offset.
Now the OEM C6 Z06 rims are 19x12 and I have NO idea what their offset is and may indeed use a completely different spacer than the regular 19x10 C6 rims.

I have some on my car. used a 1" spacer on the car. Bought some H&R ones since I want to make sure I have quality ones. Don't want to risk having my wheels pop off. Paid $180 for them shipped. You don't need a spacer for the front, and for the tires I ran 285/35/19s for the back (stock) and 245/45/18 for the front (also stock). Here's some pics. BUT I have to warn you, the stock studs were 1/4 too long, so I had to cut them down with a sawzall. I think it was worth it seeing as the wheels don't stick out too far. I have also gotten all new lug nuts all around with the correct caps. (not in the pictures)

Hey BandDirector, what suspension do you have in there? I'm picking up a set of C6's and know I'm gonna have to drop my ride height... Also, I have an SS, will aftermarket springs make a difference for Z28 and SS? I think I only wanna go 1" max, due to the SLP LT's clearance issues..........lol
Thanks, Matt.
