Weight/increased rotational mass (unless you're going from a heavy cast wheel to a lightweight three piece)
Rubbing the inner fender wells (especially when lowered)
Having to roll the outer fender lip to keep it from gouging the sidewalls (especially when lowered)
Increased cost of tires (generally)
Limited selection of tires (compared to 275/40/17's)
You won't be able to jack the car up from the side or the rear wheels will hang from the bump stops (this can be avoided by jacking up the rearend from the differential housing)
You won't be able to rotate the tires anymore
That said, if you get a good wheel with the right offset and are willing to do some extra work to make them fit, there's nothing like having big meats in the back, IMHO.

^^ what offset should I get on the TT2's?? don't need any problems
Really don't mind rolling the fenders, not rotating the tires. Plan to get nittos for the rear or BFG Kdw's.
Also I got the prokit so is that a problem?

From the sticky:
17"x11" Wheels
ZR-1 Style for Camaro +50 mm (Known as Grand Sport offset)
ZR-1 Style fo Firebird +36 or +50 mm The wheel well on the "bird" is a little wider.
American Racing TT-2's +45 mm
With 17"x11"s there is always a possibility of needing the BFH and/or fender rolling mods with 315s. If lowered, an Adjustable Panhard Bar becomes a virtual necessity. Some have used the +38 offsets with an 11" wheel but it does stick outside the fender and is definitly not recommended on lowered vehicles. +50 and +56 are the two most common. +50 is the better fit (for the ZR-1 replica).
For road race only applications a 17"x11" at all four corners can be made to fit.

Mike nailed it!
the biggest bitch right now with 315s is finding tires. Luckily i found my 3rd choice on ebay with the BFG KDs sale that was going on. if its a good tire its either discontinued or on backorder with no estimated make date (gsd3s)
