TRANFERRED FROM PM . . .

I have read the stickies and sort of lost still with the off sets.

Here is my dilema. My car is NOT a DD... weekened only car.

The TTM's i want are front = 2 @ 17X9 rear = 2 @ 17x10.5. i want the staggered look. But my concern is if i get 2 different size rims, i will not be able to rotate the tires. So should i maybe stick with a 9" rim all around?

Maybe you know something about tires too? Which tires? 9" = 275/40/17 and 10.5" = 295 or 305? i dunnno what width i would want though

Now for offset.. i am stock ride height, i have TDs which at the lowest point i have clearance of 3 1/8" What kinda offset do i want for the fronts and for the rear?

Thanks for your help
TTM's only come in one offset in either size that fits an F-Car . . .

17" x 9" = 45 mm w/ a 275/40ZR17 (Front or Rear)

17" x 10.5" = 44 mm w/ a 315/35ZR17 (Rear)

As for what sizes . . . that I'd say is entirely up to your budget. Begin able to rotate tires will most likely get longer life out of your tires, but is not a deal breaker. Cost of tires? 315's are expensive and getting harder and harder to find.

Up to you.

if i do a 295/X/17 or 305/X/17 what should X=?
There isn't a 295/XX/17 . . . or a 305/XX/17 (street tire) . . . thus why I did't state any before.

You could run a 285/40ZR17 on the 10.5" but appearance wise you may not like it due to the tire appearing narrower than the wheel.

Sorry for all the questoins
315/35ZR17 or 285/40ZR17 . . . only choice on street tires.

Hey I apologised upfront in my rant . . . if you knew how many PM's I get I think you'd understand . . .

Plus think about it . . . If all the questions are answered via PM, how do other people who ideally want to run the same set up going to be able to find the info via "Search"?

Just a thought . . . And again sorry for being short with you. I'm having a bad day.

I vote staggered as well. I run a 275 up front and 315 out back, get compliments all the time.

Rotating tires is nice and yes you do get longer life out of them but I always like to keep the better rubber on the front anyway and my front tires never wear as much as the rear tires do for some reason....lol

it's always best to keep the tires with the most tread on the rear, not on the front

Tires on LS1s don't last long

I got 9.5s all around and I regret it. Didn't really have a choice tho... I had the v6 then. 315s out back looks amazing so I would go with the staggered rims.

I had the 17x9.5 Z06 motorsports all the way around and it looked good, but once i put the 17x9 andv17x10.5's on the car became BAD ***!! Trust me you will always second guess the non staggered, I did and now that I have the staggered rims I smile everyday I see my ride!
The staggered black TTM's would look SICK on your ride, if you do get them post them up or shoot me a pm if you put them on; would love to see some pics of it.

You need to search in the top box not the bottom.

screw rotating tires man.....wouldnt you rather have a setup that makes you happy as hell everytime you look at it, or everyone always compliments it all the time..... thats what you get when you do wide wheels and 315s in the back...... i will never own a Fbody that dont have 315s in the back with 11inch wheels

Try cornering in the rain on bald front tires. I'd much rather the rear slide than the front. I keep the good treads where I want the rain channeled. Lets face it the car is a nightmare in the rain to begin with. I know the rear is going to break free, it's when the front breaks free that I dont like. Dry pavement doesnt matter.

Also blowing a rear tire isnt as truamatic as blowing a front. Same reason, for me anyway, I'd much rather have the rear slide or be unstable than the front.

The braking is done in the front, the rears assist but dont do a whole lot.
Ever ride down the street when you were a kid on a bike with coaster brakes, lock up the back wheel and leave a 25 ft skid mark?

Then get on a bike with front brakes lock them up and go over the handle bars? Same thing here. Have a vicious front tire event at any speed and you could be in serious trouble that you really cant really control your direction or speed.

Have an issue in the rear and you still have the front brakes to slow you down, and the ability to counter steer effectively.

it can be as easy as this...... run the wide tires in the back and when they start getting slick then buy new ones..... make sure all the tires and wheels are balanced and keep the right psi in the tires...... you will be suprized how long a set of tires can last if you treat them right...... all these idiots dropping their cars and not doing the proper things making them eat up the inside of the wheels and ect is silly......

go for the 10.5's in the rear, wish I would have since I ended up putting my DR's on my old WS6 rims. Hopefully going to pick up 2 10.5's for the rears soon.
