Best sticky tires for $$
So last night I went to the strip [Sand Mountain Dragway -- Section Alabama] ..
Made my first pass and when the car shifted to second it fishtailed the rest of the way down the track... :o\ I tried feathering out of the spin but it just kept going.
I let 10 lbs of air out of the tires and that seemed to help but... I want some good tires because my 60ft was TERRIBLE.
So -- Soon I'll be getting the ZR1 Replicas [17x11] and I want to go ahead and get a decent tire on the back. This car is a DAILY DRIVER .. so I want something that will last a while ..
What do you guys suggest?

I would suggest getting whatever tire you fancy for the 17's. Find a cheap pair of used 16 inch wheels like salad shooters/ect. and throw a pair of nittos on those for the track.

do a search at tire rack on line it has every brand and gives you all the spec's you need about the tire as far as width you can move up th the 285-45 r 17 or go to a 35 series 315 -35 r17 the 315 would get you 1 1/2" more rubber on the ground and michelin has a 335 -35 r17that tire is 13.18 " wide the stock 275 45 r17 is 10.8" wide hope this helps but if you want serious traction on the strip ET Streets are a must

Definitely the 315/35 nitto 555r's on the 11" rims! I have had three pairs of nittos and would not recommend another tire for traction. My first nittos lasted two years, never drove in the snow. They are awesome on dry and very good in the rain.
