I have never seen anybody on here with widened hawk wheels, but I'd do it if I were you.

I have seen 2 or 3 people do it. They look killer but the only problem is that since you are adding 2 inches to the back part of the wheel you have to run spacers to set the wheel out further, and when you do that you have to be careful to not run a really wide tire or they will hit your fender.

The guy's who I personally thought looked the best was running 315 NIttos and it looked killer.

sweet guys. now if only someone will chime in with a link to some pictures or something... lol

fitting the wider wheels & tires in the back I'm not worried about at all. I think narrowed front wheels & widened back wheels would look pretty crazy

widening factory wheels doesn't make them look any different on the outside. You only add width on the backside, and it would allow a slightly wider tire. Appearance-wise, it would be identical on the outside.

Which means the same old WRONG offset from GM, with the wheels tucked too far inside the fenders

bringing this thread back up.

does anyone know the widest tire you can fit on the 98-02 stock firehawk wheels? I read a thread somewhere a minute ago saying a guy was running 315's on the back wheels. I don't believe that. I mean, they have 275's on them right now. but 315's??? that's unreal.

yeah man I'd love to see pictures of that thing! and I was actually thinking about swapping my silver firehawks for chrome ones, so that'd be cool to see your car. I'm kinda afraid of the wheels cracking after they're widened. I assume you haven't had any problems?

I'm getting a set of chrome 16x8 five spoke firebird wheels widened to 16x10.5 soon. I'm going to run 315/45/16 et street radials. Sleeper style.
