Question lugnuts

I'm needing new lugnuts for my car..

I have a strange Dana 60 with 1/2 studs right now. then just the stock Camaro studs up front.

I just had a set or crappy lugnuts from a local shop that snaped off two studs on the Dana. So I'm needing really good lugnuts!

What do you recomend?

Gorilla or McGard make very good lugnuts. Do NOT overtorque them or you will stretch the studs and cause them to break. Remember, lug torque depends on stud size NOT wheel or lugnut type.

it was weird when I snaped the two on the dana. I broke them loose like I did every other one. (wheel wobbled so they were all loose) as I started to take them off thats when the two tightened back up.

Thunder Racing sells Gorilla lugnuts. That's where I've bought my last two sets.

Stock Lug Nut Size

19 mm socket (6 sided socket preffered over 12 sided sockets) 3/4" will work in a pinch.

12 mm X 1.5 pitch commonly marketed as M12X1.5 - Recommend a "Bulge Cone Seat" style lug nut.

I am no expert but are you sure? As I have ARP extra long fronts. that where pulled through with a lugnut and a air gun. And in the rear i had to buy need axles (12bolt) with 1/2 studs extra long as it is a track rule. So now I have different lugs front and rear. no big deal but I run STEEL zinc coated open face lugs. Same company NASCAR uses but coated.

However I have been told on "race" style wheels. Like softer aluminum wheels. Need a special lug nut with a built on washer and has a "shaft" that also treads on and goes through the wheel.
