American Racing 767 15x8's?
Just a quick question. I picked up a pair of American Racing 767 wheels (15x8-- just measured). They have a set of M/T ET Drags (26x10) with a just a little bit of tread left (enough to have fun with at the track a few times this year)
part numbers for the wheels i believe are 767-5861
according to many sites i've seen ( http://www.tirefactory.net/ar767.html ) the supposed backspacing is 4". (-12 offset) I just measured and it seems like a HAIR under 4.0 so that would seem right.
I'm too lazy to jack up the car and test fit them right now... it looks like the tire is going to fit fine, but the rear calipers are what concern me (1999 t/a for the record).
anyone ever owned a set of these, and/or know off the top of their head if these will fit (only seeing the numbers) with minimal to no modification?
Guy i got em from gave em to me for a STEAL at 125 for the pair, so if nothing else i can turn around and sell them to someone with an older (lt1 fbody or even 80's cars) without losing anything on em.
so yeah, any chiming in would be appreciated...

figured i'd give an update:
they do fit. Not too sure if i like the offset though... they stick WAY out. Hell for the price i paid can't complain. Popped em on, and drove it 1/2 mile down the road to top off the air. Did the ole slow drive with the windows down and my head out the window to listen for Any sign of abnormal noises or rubbing. Everything checked good, i think they will work, but i guess i just dont like the insane offset.
more pics of the offset:

i guess my next issue is, with these being a negative offset wheel, i'm very concerned about the possible amount of extra stress that could possibly be applied to the axle/hub itself.
The end result is i probably will be looking at a different wheel for this setup, however i've never heard strait up if sticking out that far will cause havoc on everything. My guess is yes it will be harmful, and i'm not going to be running them until i find out 100% that things will be ok.
You get what you pay for, and i'd glady fork out a mere 200 dollars to get the RIGHT set of wheels.
