Why should I pay more money for a rim that's going to cost me more money in upkeep, make my car slower due to weight, reduce mpg, increase road noise and decrease traction?
Are you kidding, 17's look so lame. Esp Z06 rims in 17's, might as well be 16's, they look like it anyway.

Swapping out stock 16's for larger rims typically results in a 1-2 mpg highway loss. I've seen it happen. You realize how detrimental added rotating mass and increased friction is, right? A 10lb reduction in driveshaft weight is good for 5-10rwhp on the dyno. You don't think another 15-20 lbs in wheels plus wider tires won't affect ET's and mpg? You're lying to yourself. I watched a guy pick up 3 tenths in the quarter mile by putting the stock rims and tires back on his V6 Firebird.

By that logic, your 18's might as well by 17's. You won't be able to notice the difference from afar unless it's pointed out to you. I'd rather save $300 in tires every year or two, not to mention the additional benefits I already laid out.

bro you read waaaaay too much on the internet. guess what. i have done it. i didnt watch anyone do it. or read about it on the internet. (and if it makes you feel better i watched my buddy do the exact same thing on his car.) it didnt affect mpg AT ALL (and i check it every single tank) and my car picked up zero going from the 17" zr1's to a set of salad shooters. (neither did his) and that was on a car that ran 12.72-12.74 every single pass. the weight savings are minimal at best. now swapping to a light weight rim as a weld or bogart u may see some performance gains but thats a rim thats less then half what a factory rim weighs.

well i emailed them myself to ask if they were going to make an 18x9.5 in the y2ks or the z06s and here is their response

"I’m only going to get them in 18x9.5 if I start carrying a 19/18 version and at this time we are not sure if we will."

ah i want them NOW! i dont wanna wait cant...do...17s...aaaahh....

Hmm...well thats better than what I got...the dude I talked to on the phone was pretty sure he wasn't going to carry them in a 18x9.5 at all. Those would look soo much better in a 18/19 stagger than the 17 front in that style.

CHOCOTACO...

I swear. You have a horrible way of thinking about "appearance mods". First, you think lowering cars does nothing but looks ghetto. And now you think people cant tell a difference between 17s and 18s? And that they'll look pretty much the same? WTF? I'm sure if you ask some random girl the difference, she wouldnt notice, but im sure most of us on here can tell the difference. You worry about some gay ****. "I'll have to drive slower" "I'll lose 1-2 mpg" "the road noise will be louder" WTF?? Keep coming up with gay reasons to make yourself better about your car being GAY.

i think the rears look very nice but the fronts are just too damn small. ive always thought that about c5 wheels. the 17's never look right. id really like to see the other style in chrome at 18" all 4 corners.
