Would a 285/40/17 work with a 17x11 tt2?

Would a 285/40/17 work with a 17x11 tt2? I was wondering if i got a 17x11 tt2 in the back with a Kumho Ecsta ASX 285/40ZR17, would this fit if the rim max is 11 " and would i need any spacing on a my 02 trans am>? Im gonna put 17x9.5 with 275/40/17 in the front either Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season or a BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S.
