Default need a tire, imput appreciated.

ok, so i just got a huge nail put in one of my rear tires of my z/28, and now im needing at the minimum 2 new tires just for the rear, whats a good quality (but fairly cheap) DD tire that will fit on the factory 16" chrome five spokes? sorry for the noob question, i just have no idea when it comes to tires, unless its slicks. i need something that will last for a while so drag radials are likely out of the question, but are there any regular tires that are a little stickier w/o the sacrifice of a tire that will only last for a few thousand miles? Thanks in advance

~406malibu

EDIT: also can i fit 245's on them or do i have to go with the 235's from the factory?

I suggest the Fuzion ZRi.

(if the car currently has the 235/55s verify that's the OE size, as it's possible that's what the computer is set up for. However, the 245/50s will fit.)

yea, they are the p235/55/r16's they suck, i hate the r rated tires, plus i want something that will be a tad stickier. and the nittos, you said they last a good while, do you happen to know the tread life for them ttranssam

Believe it or not, the 235/55s were the base tire for both the V-6 and Z-28 Camaros, and I would imagine it was the same with the Firebirds. If you ordered the 245/50s, since they were "Z" rated, you car also came without the speed governor.

the treadwear on the Nitto 555r's is 100. I have had 305's on the back of mine for a while now and they still have plenty of tread left. I love mine on the street.

btw...i think they make a 255 nitto in 16's that would be a nice fit for the stock rims.
